During meetings, the Systems Inspired Leader is constantly sensing the system, tracking shifts in the energy/emotional field. What is happening in the moment? Is it tense, confusing, or relaxed? Is there laughter, excitement, or silence? These are the unconscious footprints of the actual systemic experience. Systems Inspired Leaders will neutrally reflect these shifts to the system and support and invite others to do the same. Inquiring about that experience in the room, and what is underneath it, will help create awareness of what is not consciously experienced, which is frequently actually driving decision-making.
Revealing the system to itself is a way of slowing down (Chapter 6). It is moving out of the reactive mode and pressing the pause button to see what is actually going on in the system, and what is trying to happen. It is from there that something new can emerge.
